Las Voces del Lago is more than just a choir—it's a celebration of the human voice, shared culture, and vibrant community life in Lakeside.
From the beginning of human history, vocal music has been a powerful form of expression. Like laughter, it's a universal language that transcends borders and speaks directly to the soul. Long before the written word, people used song to tell stories, pass down traditions, and teach vital truths. That legacy lives on today—and it thrives in our multicultural Lakeside community.
Music continues to connect us. It helps preserve our diverse heritages and gives us a space to express joy, sorrow, love, and hope. Whether sung in choirs, congregations, or around a table with friends, music brings people together and reminds us that we belong.
How to volunteer
Not a singer? No problem—we have plenty of other meaningful ways to contribute. From ushering at concerts to capturing photos and videos, from building media connections to keeping our finances on track, every role helps our music shine. Our Mission
To provide musical entertainment to the residents and visitors of
the Lakeside community; to nurture and develop existing and new talent in every aspect of choral singing.
Las Voces del Lago is comprised of a group of people who love to sing. All
singers who audition successfully, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual
orientation, gender identification, national origin, disability, age or their ability to read music are welcome to join the Chorus.
Las Voces del Lago is composed of....
Our premier community chorus, Las Voces del Lago, brings together more than 60 singers and has been inspiring audiences since its founding in 2023. From medieval sacred music to classical masterpieces and contemporary pop favorites, our diverse repertoire offers somethingfor everyone. As a community-based ensemble, we invite all local singers to audition andbecome part of our musical family.
Formed to highlight the exceptional talent of the women in our main chorus, the Women's Chorus features all female members who wish to participate. We perform sophisticated and dynamic works that showcase the beauty and power of women's voices in harmony. These pieces often present artistic challenges—and create unforgettable musical experiences.
Nova Lux is an auditioned chamber ensemble of 12–20 singers selected from Las Voces del Lago. With a focus on precision, expression, and vocal blend, Nova Lux performs an eclectic mix of chamber music, jazz, pop, and more. Each concert features a newly auditioned lineup,resulting in fresh, vibrant performances that are as rewarding to hear as they are to sing.
